nice, clean and modern. nice breakfast that starts early enough to catch before the first shuttle to the airport. the restaurant next door is also perfect for dinner without having to leave the hotel. however the highlight of our stay was one receptionist, Miguel. His smile made us feel welcome right away, and he really went out of his way to give us a great experience even during the short time we were there. he gave us some fabulous recommendations for getting the best views of Bilbao, which honestly gave our trip the perfect ending. thanks again Miguel! :)

This is the perfect place to stay for an early flight. It was comfortable, and they are well organized to accommodate travelers. The first free shuttle leaves at 520 AM and it takes just 5 minutes to get to the airport. (Contact them to reserve places to assure there is room). Breakfast is available at 5AM and is surprisingly good (bread, pastries, hard boiled eggs/cheese/meats, yogurt, juice, coffee etc)--they even have bags you can pack food to take with you if your don't have an appetite yet. Beds and room--while not up to date stylish--comfortable.

I took the 5 am shuttle so had no time for more than coffee and orange juice. But the restaurant which is only adjacent and not a part of the hotel was important in my stay. I had a very nice lunch on Monday after 2 (Pollo and mushrooms) and a good evening at the bar Monday evening. I had a beer and was about to leave (9;15 pm) when I struck up a fine conversation with an Austrian tourist group leader. He has stayed at the Holiday Inn Express numerous times but this time was in the new (?) one across the field. The Urbe is an asset even if not a part.

excellent location for an early flight the next day -5 minute shuttle to airport. breakfast looked like it was good (they were going to have a tortilla -my favorite!) but it didn’t open until 5 when we were leaving for the airport. however, they had the cold items ready so offered us those before we left (sliced meats and cheeses, yogurts, breads) plus juices and coffee, so that was a very nice unexpected bonus.

The location is excellent, not only for the airport but also for getting into the city as there is a very good free shuttle service between the hotel and airport and then an excellent value/fast bus service (€3) between the airport and Bilbao. The hotel is comfortable and clean and the breakfast was good. It's good value for an airport hotel. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful.
